I'm trying to be objective and fair. We have used this refrigerator for three weeks. It had been purchased online through Home Depot. At first appearance the quality was acceptable. The fan was not noisy the first day. Then we noticed that separate temperature controls for the refrigerator and freezer are not supplied. There is only one temperature control, and we could not get the freezer closer to zero degrees than 15 above without freezing items in the refrigerator. On the second day, the fan was noticeably louder. Annoyingly loud. Then we had ordered an ice maker option. We received model IM-4D, which is what is recommended for this model according to GE. But the inside of the freezer noted that the icemaker kit had to have a "red label". This IM-4D had a blue label. Returning the IM-4D at Home Depot was a nightmare because this was supposed to be the right part according to GE. Good thing I took photos of the icemaker and the freezer. We have yet to call "GE CARES" to find out how we get the right IM-4D. But I’m not sure I’m going to keep this. Why? 1) An annoying loud fan, 2) no separate refrigerator/freezer control, and 3) lack of readily available “red label” icemaker kit.
