Plastic Knobs

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I wish I would have read these reviews before choosing this cooktop 3 years ago - I'm shocked that the knobs are plastic - they have broken numerous times and of course the cheap plastic parts like these aren't covered in the warranty so they can make more money since I have to purchase these replacements often. KitchenAid has not been helpful at all.

Hard to keep the glass top, drives me crazy with the smears. Cheap knobs, the knob to the downdraft cracked (after maybe 15 times using no it). The grates are too slippery.

I purchased this cooktop a little over two years ago, and posted a review shortly after purchasing and installing the unit. The first knob broke within weeks of installing the unit. I have now had to replace every knob at least once. I am now on my fourth replacement of the fan control knob, and have just had to spend over $100.00 to purchased a complete set of replacement knobs. At the price of this unit, the extraordinarily poor quality of the knobs is absolutely unacceptable. And KitchenAid has been no help with this.
