Ice maker broken, replaced drawers twice. unreliable, cheap materials.

Several issues with ice maker. Repaired several times, replaced and still having issues of it not making ice. Will work for short period of time then quits. Finally after a long paper trail of repair work, I was approved for a replacement refrigerator. Different model. Just delivered this morning. I hope this one is better with no issues

The fridge looks nice and I like the space on the inside. BUT, if you need ice, this is not the unit for you. Tomorrow will be the 4th time that the ice maker will be repaired. There is a kit that has been put on it, the fan has been replaced, the ice maker has been replaced. I have owned the unit for 14 months and it is not acceptable that the ice maker has broke 4 times. I have been told that Frigidaire does not replace products. I will never buy another product. This has been a horrible experience. I just want a fridge that works and makes ice. When does the company take responsibility for their product? This should be replaced, no questions asked!

This refrigerator has given me nothing but problems. I purchased the Frigidaire model FGUB2642LF7 back in May 2012. I've had problems with the first year up to now. The icemaker kept failing within 1st year of warranty where I had to have a repairman come out a couple of times to address it. I was told to defrost the icemaker with a hair dryer or heat gun for future occurrence. to remedy this, I've had to continually turn the ice maker off and on every few days. The plastic on top of the freezer door wore and peeled off. The plastic frame has cracked around the dispenser. The back of the refrigerator has rusted several months ago. After talking to customer service to get the repair service Frigidaire uses out to the house, I was told this was a common problem with the refrigerator. They sent a kit to have this repaired free of charge but I had to take a chance on paying for the service and repair. Frigidaire could not guarantee that this would be covered even after I explained the problem. As of this past week, the freezer and refrigerator temperatures rose to 19º F and 60º respectively and the water stopped dispensing. Of course, this ruined some of the food. The refrigerator gave no indication that the water filter needed to be replaced but I did so anyway. I was able to get the water back running but the door on the ice dispenser stopped working. I paid a technician to come out and he said the solenoid was bad on the dispenser and the evaporator had frozen over because the thermostat was not working. He told me it would be roughly $500 to replace. I do not feel the customer service is good. The people are okay to deal with but they cannot do much to help with issues. I'm not pleased with my purchase and feel it was a bad investment. I've had to take off work on multiple occasions because of this refrigerator. I will not purchase another Frigidaire product and would advise no one else should to save their time and money.

This is the first brand new appliance that I ever purchased and the ice maker does not work. I have had a technician at my house to repair it 3 times!!!! And, now it is broken for a 4th time!!!! People work hard for their money and expect good quality from a brand name. I am truly at a loss. I wish I would have read all of the previous reviews about this problem before making such an important purchase. Very disheartened to see that I bought something brand new that only half works.
