I've been lucky had mine about 5 years but have put up with alot of what I see from these reviews. We got our place and didnt have anything so we purchased these and made payments on a loan with them with interest over a matter of three years. So easily 2 grand. Well our clothes arm pits dont get clean. And our clothes stains even with stain fighters do not come out. I have two young children. And the machine smells like it sours, like it hold water somewhere inside the machine but never leaks. However upside is it washed all my households size comforters and pillows and two loads of clothes at a time. I'm not a fan of it not having a twisty dial in the middle my clothes just seem to spin and not surface which is why I think they dont get clean.

I bought my washer about six years ago and initially it worked great, but in the past few years it's been a pain. The lid has broken off and been replaced twice and it's broken again. (off to buy a new machine). As many owners have stated - dark colored clothes ALWAYS come out with white spots all over them and you have to wash over and over to try and get it out; also I've washed clothes and when I remove the clothes on the top they are almost dry because of the low water levels. Great in the beginning sucks in the end!

Worked great until it went out

Worked very great for about 4 years. At about 4 years and 6 months the bearing went out causing a major water leak. It basically destroyed the unit and it DID completely destroy my floor. All my appliances are whirlpool and I’ve been a faithful customer but this just disappoints me.

Cabrio Washers Have Bad Tub Bearing Design

I'm very disappointed with my Cabrio washer. A major weak point is failure of the tub bearing. I just finished replacing the bearing for the third time in the seven years that I have owned the machine. They tend to go out about every two years. Cost runs around $350 each time. It's sad that Whirlpool doesn't even try to redesign the bearing to address the pre-mature failure issue. The third bearing was just replaced about one month ago and now the machine is throwing an F1 code and won't spin. I'm so done with Whirlpool and will be shopping for a new washer soon, but it will not be a Whirlpool because what they are selling these days is total JUNK! I'll be warning everyone that I know to stay away from Whirlpool products. By the way, I also own an older Whirlpool refrigerator that has performed flawlessly for over 20 years. Apparently,Whirlpool has lost its way and no longer values their customers or cares about the products that they sell. It used to be a great company, but no more.

Purchased the Cabrio Platinum washer dryer set, and after barley 6 years my dryer started taking a long time to dry 80-90 minutes for average load, and shortly after my washer started making a very loud sound during the spin cycle. It's the sound of a jet engine taking off, I don't run my washer when I have company because it's so loud. Now it makes the sound of a jet and a bird chirping, and I was told it would cost anywhere from $350-$600 for repairs, so I'm ordering 2 new sets of LG for my upstairs and soon to be finished basement. My last set lasted more than 9 years before the dryer element went out so I "upgraded" to this set even though my washer was fine. Looks like the bearings are a common problem with this set from other reviews, and I will stay away from Whirlpool for my next purchase.
